Do a little extra to make them grab

FINALLY I GOT THE RIGHT HUB CAPS!!For people complaining about loose fitment issues and cover flying off. I took those reviews seriously and studied the covers. Finding were, the contact points are too round and won't grab the wheel tightly. So easy fix, glues straps of 80 grit sand paper (wet or dry), and problem solved. PERFECT TIGHT FIT! Classy Carbon Fiber Wheel Covers.

I wasn’t anticipating on replacing my old, scratched up, winter-weather worn wheel covers for a while... but then it happened: the front driver side cover popped out as I was driving on the highway. Now my OCD is *really* bugging me to replace it.And so I did. Wanted a different, sleeker look for the Toyrolla. Can’t go wrong with carbon fiber, right? Then I *had* to get the car washed because the wheel covers were cleaner than the vehicle itself! Then I *had* to get some wheel cleaner and tire shine because the wheel covers were shinier than the tires! Good thing I remembered to take before and after photos. These were very simple and easy to install. These wheel cover kits have the same, basic instructions. Mounting rings are connected (in this kit, it’s with a red connector with 3 holes - I chose the middle one ). Ring is then popped into several tabs with two setting on the inside on the cover (I chose the lower/inner option for the tightest fit) and orientating the gap for the stem with the bump facing away (making a circle or oval shape). Take the entire cover and with the ring/tabs facing the tire, aligning the stem gap first, then gently pushing the cover into the wheel, and it helps to tap it in on alternating sides. There should be a audible “pop” with the fitting. Some people like to use a rubber mallet. I use my shoe and (softly) kick it in all around. I did purchase electrical tape in the event the rings needed a better grip, but I didn’t need it for this particular set. It should be snug with a bit of wiggle room for expansion purposes. So far, these puppies have stayed on after a powerful touchless car wash with wheel scrubbing and some pretty rigorous highway trips with bumps and potholes (sorry car!). I’m hoping the darker color stands up to normal wear and tear much better.

    Good Sporty Look

I had to let the look of these hubcaps grow on me at first. Initially I didn’t like the look at first because it looked like I had no wheels due to the tan color exterior of my vehicle. I wanted to spray the wheel rims red but I don’t think it would match my car color. Tinted windows would make the overall color pop more but here in Ny the tinted window laws suck but oh well I like this product overall. Sidenote use the cap adapter that snaps on the hubcap wheel circle rod so these hubcaps will fit snug, and won’t fall off.Pros: They fit snug. The color is nice, and the style is nice as well. Very easy and precise to install. The packaging was decent as well.Cons:these will get dirty in the winter due to the salt residue on roads. But with regular wash maintenance they will be fine. The quality is is slightly negative due to the plastic material but what do you expect there hubcaps just be careful when parking along curbs. What do you think of the look of these hubcaps with my car. Thanks for reading this review and have a great 2020 everyone!

I have to give it a good rating compared to all the other ones, that don't last for too long.

Great product! I was always buying wheel covers until I found this one. They look good in the car, fit perfectly, are easy to install, and Have Scratch resistance. The product does its job well. The Material thickness is what it needs to be. The color fits perfectly with any color of car. Yes, good Value for the money.

    No replacements when lost

Lost one because of loose fitment, don't grab tight enough to hold. Only had for a month and lost one in the dark, can't find anywhere. No way to order a replacement, told they only sell in sets of 4, don't waste your money. Look great but would get expensive to keep replacing a set of 4 Everytime.

Nice to work with great companies!

I bought a set of these for my Corolla. I got side-tracked when installing them and lost a couple of the little clips used in mounting them. I wrote to the company (Alpena) and they were very helpful in replacing them. I will do business with this company anytime I can going forward.

    Bad Customer service. Buyer Beware!

Be careful not being too forecfull installing these! on one of them, one of the plastic clips broke off as I was installing it and putting it on the wheel. It is still holding on my wheel after a couple days of driving it, but is obviously looser than the other ones, and it worries me that it will come off and hit someone else's car while I'm driving down the road and hit a bump or something. I contacted the company that sells these directly to see if they could send me a replacement for just one wheel and they told me to deal with Amazon and that they could not help me. Long story short, I would have to buy an entire set of 4 again to fix this issue. I'm not very pleased at all with the customer service I recieved after buying these, however they do look pretty sweet on my car, not going to lie.

    Haven't fallen off yet 🤞

UPDATE: One finally fell off and it seems I can't get a replacement 😢Had these installed on 2013 Ford Explorer after the lug nuts swelled (apparently it's a thing). The cost of these plus generic lug nuts was actually less than replacing the factory OEM lug nuts that might also swell over time.Only gripe is one of the clips broke when I had new tires installed. Crossing my fingers and so far none of them have popped off yet.

    Nice looking! Take your time.

I give them 4 1/2 Stars. I finally lost one after about a year and a half. That was the one that I kind of broke a tiny bit while installing. You have to install the wire ring with the red spacers to make it fit tight on the rim. The instructions are a little vague, but when you realize that the wire ring tension is what holds the hub cap in place, it's easier to get the correct adjustment. Steel rims from different manufacturers will be a little bit different where the hub cap fits. The red adjusters help you make it tighter or looser depending on the rim. Also, which grove you use to snap the wire ring into will affect the fit. After you pop it on, grab it and pull on it to see how easy it comes off. If it's easy or tough, you have a clue whether to adjust it. Take your time and get one to fit really tight. Then use the same adjustments on the other 3 wheels. It's not rocket science. I bought another set so I can replace the one I lost. Now I'll have 3 spares! At $45 for some nice looking wheels that don't cost a few hundred $$ each works for me.

    Was good...for a while.

Bought these for my car to cover up my rusty steel wheels. Went to YouTube to find out how to put on the retention rings on the cover since it didn't come with paper instructions. The only instructions is on the box itself and it's mostly vague at best. After getting the rings on, 3 of them felt secure except for one and no matter what I did or how many times I took it off and put it back on, it never felt secure. So the covers aren't even on my car yet and I'm already not feeling confident with them and I concluded that I received a faulty ring. I installed them on my car, did some test drives, and they held on. Of course, the cover with the faulty ring didn't feel secure on the wheel. Fast forward 3 months, and so far I was satisfied with them. Unfortunately, after coming home from delivering food and waking up the next day, I realized that one of the covers fell off sometime when I was driving the day before. And which one fell off? The one with the faulty ring. Now the townsfolk point and laugh at my rusty steel wheel being exposed. I can only drive away slowly in shame, knowing that my wheel cover is somewhere on the side of a road, alone and cold, crying out in the dark night, waiting for me to return. So yeah, the faulty ring really screwed things up, but when all of the covers are secured onto the wheels, it looks good.UPDATE: Another one fell off. This time it was one of the sturdy ones. The only thing I can think of as to why it fell off was because of the plastic connector to hold the ring together. I bought one more pair of these and this time, I glue the ends of the ring to the connector so it can stay connected. When I have to glue a retention ring just so it works properly, I’m most likely not going to recommend others to buy this.

Works great for me, looks fine, needs to be adjusted to YOUR wheels

These fit my vehicle fine. I played with the settings (the red thing that connects the wires) until the medium worked. Had to check and double check the tire stem was in the correct location. Once on they have not come loose.Overall look is fine in the semi-matte black. Have not lost one since purchasing (90 days or so, with some rough roads and 1000's of mile). If this is your flavor of wheel cover, get them and spend a few minutes checking and installing correctly. Mine had to be lightly hand-banged on for the last little bit to fit flush. Not HARD, mind you.... Just tapping lightly. One I had to hit a bit harder (it had more well weights than the others or the rim was slightly tweaked/dirty/etc.) and it felt like it might crack. No cracks as of yet (have had them on and off at least 5 times), and they have stayed on well. After the 1st time putting them on, I went back around and hit them a few times to make sure they were seated - one was slightly off, but probably due to me not installing them all the way. No hammers!!!Long-term, they seems to have held up. I think the red has MAYBE faded slightly, but in my eyes this is okay. Or perhaps I just need to wash them.

Fantastic Wheel Covers- Great fit and finish- worth every penny!

I am thoroughly pleased with this product. My old OEM hubcabs were getting old and faded, and looked too staid. These Alpena VR Gun metal gray cabs are worth every penny. In person they look every bit as good as you see on the site here. In terms of quality, they are studier than anything else I researched. The finish is immaculate, sharp, and metallic looking with small flakes. The 'carbon-fiber' look is spot-on and indeed, it has the feel of it as well. These are less silver than other standard hubcaps out there and so they provide a unique look from these and the black Alpena, if the black is too dark for your tastes. The three option ring adjustment tightness and the two option depth adjustment, makes it possible to, with a little testing and care, to always get a tight, secure fit. I just took my time and tested the right combination, while also looking at my old ones to help make sure I set the right depth for the ring. The V was not black, however, even though the photo here and those on the box they came in showed them as black. The 'V' of the VR logo on them is actually metallic silver in color- and a shade or two lighter than the rest of the cap's gun metal color, so it does stand out, but not as much as the black would, so I like it even better. Yes, it would be nice if the steel wheel could be covered more, but this would change the design/shape. I only wish they recessed inward a but more, as they do, as its shape, as you go toward the center, goes outward some. It they were more flat, I would be perfectly please. Nonetheless, they are awesome, great quality, with a nice finish and secured well (always follow the install instructions carefully). If they came cracked, they at the least, the shipper likely handled then poorly, had some other box box fall on them in the truck. Mine arrived in spotless condition. And, they came many weeks early with standard shipment. I would definitely buy them again- no hesitation. When my car dies, I will keep the Alpena's, and mount them on the wall in my garage. They look and feel that good!
